Twilight at Blueberry Barrens is third in the Sunset Cove series. If you
can it is better to read the first book in the series, The Inn at
Ocean's Edge so you can understand the history behind Claire and Kate.
They are biological sisters but did not know about each other. It is not
as important to read the second book in the series as that story does
not involve Kate or Claire. In a few of Collen Coble's books I have been
able to guess who the bad guys were. Not so in this book. I was puzzled
until the very end. This book starts out with a mystery. Kate and her
sister Claire spot a murdered couple on the beach. From all appearances
it looks like a murder/suicide. The police believe the husband murdered
the wife and then killed himself. The man's brother Drake does not
believe his brother would do such a thing. Drake becomes the caretaker
of his brother's children and hires Kate to be their nanny.
This
book had me guessing from the beginning. Kate is being stalked. Is it
her uncle Paul who has escaped from prison or someone more sinister? And
what about the murder of the couple on the beach? Who is responsible
for this? I would have one theory and then one theory would be be blown
when the answer was revealed. As in any Colleen Coble novel there are
twists and turns. You don't want to miss this one if you are a fan of
romantic suspense.
This book is due to be released on September
20, 2016. Thanks to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson Company for providing me
an ARC of the book to review.
