Fragile Designs by Colleen Coble

Fragile Designs is a stand-alone book by Colleen Coble that captured me from the first page. I could not put this book down. It was a roller coaster ride from the beginning until the end.  The book starts out with Carly as a widow raising an infant son. Her husband was murdered and never knew he was going to be a father.  She moves in with her grandmother and trouble follows her. She finds a Faberge egg and finds out that it is quite valuable. I love the relationship she had with her grandmother's next door neighbor who at first didn't like her.  Many characters in the book who could or could not be the villain. Some who I thought were innocent turned out gulty and more than one who I though were guilty turned out to be innocent.  There are twists and turns in this story. I was quite satisfied with the ending.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Countdown by Lynette Eason

Countdown is the last book in th Extreme Measures series by Lynette Eason. I have enjoyed all the books in the series but this one is the favorite. Even though this book is part of a series it can be read as a stand-alone. There is nothing in the book that would be a spoiler if you wanted to read the others in the series. In this book Raina who was formerly Brianna is hiding from her stalker, a man who she was in an abusive relationship with. This book was fast-paced and got my attention from the first page. There are some twists toward the end. Lynette Eason never disappoints with delivering an on the edge of your seat suspense novel. Thanks to Librarything and the publisher Revell books for providing me an ARC book to review. All reviews are my own.

Starstuck by Amy Clipston

Heather Gordon is content working in her family's restaurant making desserts. She has dreams of opening her own shop combing two loves which are reading and baking desserts. One day the members of the band Kirwan enters the family restaurantI.  Her sister is impressed and in awe but Heather is not particularly when the two younger brothers of the band make a mess after having a food fight.  The older brother Alex comes in and apologizes and helps to clean up.  He tries to make ammends by offering free tickets to their con
cert.  Healther reluctanly goes to the concert after being pressured by her younger sister..  She enjoyed the concert more than she thought she would.  After the concert she goes looking for her sister and accidentally wanders into Alex's dressing room. They get into a conversation and find out they both enjoy books.  She thought she would never see him again but she loses her phone and Alex finds it.  He traces her down and gives it back to her personally. They start communicating by text, email and zoom calls. I loved the character of Alex. He was so down to earth and wanted to do something more with his life other than be a rockstar. His younger brothers were more enamored with the fame and all that goes with fame. Alex was more humble. He loved that Heather was not like most girls who threw themselves at him. I loved how their love grew and not just an instant thing.  I kept wondering how these two unlikely people would ever find happiness. He was a public figure and she was just a small town home girl and liked her privacy.  Loved how they were able to face these obstacles to find the happiness they deserved.

He wedding is in a few days and she will be meeting her inlaws for the first time. She hopes all goes well. Two to Tango by Kathleen Fuller

Two to Tango is fourth and final book in the Maple Falls series that takes place in Arkansas. I believe this last book is my favorite in the series. The chemistry between Kingston and Olivia was there was the beginning but because of Kingston overtaxed schedule as a pediatrician he messed things up with her by ghosting her two different times. After the first time he ghosted her she decided to give him a second chance but he blew that chance. Fast forward a year later the older ladies and his overbearing mother could see the "chemistry" there and schemed to get them together but Olvia is twice bitten so it is not going to be easy for her to forgive him. This book had me laughing with the antics of the older ladies. If a book can manage to bring a smile to my face that's an added bonus to me. Also, there is an additonal romance in the book of two of the older characters in ths book. I really thororoughly enjoyed this book and hope the author writes more contemporary romance books. Under Fire by Lynn H. Blackburn

Under Fire is third in the Defend and Protect series by Lynn H. Blackburn. I wanted to love it as much as the first three books in the series but I didn't. This book is classified as Romantic Suspense but there was too much focus on the romance. Tess and Zane have a history with each other and there is definitely some attraction there. She has a history of alcoholism and Zane had to deal with an alcoholic mother growing up. What I liked about the book deal is that it deals with imperfect characters. What I did not like about the book is that it focused too much on the romance aspect of the book and not enough suspense. Also there were too many characters that got confusing. Fans who have read the other books in this series will enjoy this book.

Break of Day by Colleen Coble

Break of Day is the third book of the Annie Pederson series. To fully understand the characters I recommend you read the series in the order the books are written. At the beginning of this book Annie is estranged from her long lost sister Sarah. To understand why you need to read the previous books. Also other plot lines will be best understood if you read the previous books. I always jump at the chance to read a Colleen Coble novel. These books keep me up late at night wanting to finish and this one was did not disappoint. At one time toward the end I was wondering if characters I had grown attached to were going to get out alive. It was that suspenseful. Highly recommend for those who love romantic suspense novels and Coleen Coble.
